Ivy Ireland
Ivy is the author of the poetry collections Incidental Complications (2007), Porch Light (2015), The Owl Inside (2020) and Tide (2024). Ivy has won literary awards such as the Australian Young Poetry Fellowship, the Harri Jones Memorial Prize, The Newcastle Poetry Prize (local) and the Olga Masters Short Story Award. Her poetry, short fiction, essays and reviews have been widely published in journals and anthologies.
Ivy has worked as a lecturer performer and musician and currently works as a counsellor, teacher and bookseller. On occasion you may find her sharing her poetry through readings, or at workshops where she encourages attendees to explore methods of integrating unconscious elements of the psyche into the process of writing.
Ivy holds an M. Counselling (AIPC) and a Ph.D in Creative Writing from the University of Newcastle. Ivy is a level 2 member of the Australian Counselling Association and is currently accepting new clients via this site or through https://www.goodtherapy.com.au/amanda_ireland
